Biography

Ruth has been an established portrait photographer for many years. After beginning her training with catwalk photographer Niall McInerney she moved on to an 8 year position as first assistant to high profile photographer, Trevor Leighton.

Her work experience was firmly rooted in the traditional disciplines of classic photography, assisting Trevor in printing a substantial amount of his work, many of which can be seen hanging in the National Portrait Gallery.

Ruth became sidetracked for a number of years into a successful career in film production, working on many leading international advertising campaigns. However, after the birth of her daughter, she decided to revive her passion for portraiture and reconnect with her photographic roots.

Once trading under her own name, Ruth received commissions from actors, comedians, production companies, commercial and editorial clients, this has steadily grown to a loyal following.
